Edinburgh cross
Still wet this morning but we enjoyed a walk along Princes Street. There are lots of statues and monuments especially in the gardens. This is one of he first we came to ,a Celtic cross memorial to Dean Ramsay. It 8 metres high and made of granite with bronze reliefs representing various stages of Christs passion. It was unveiled in 1879,7 years after his death.
We were hoping to have breakfast in Jenners but it was nt open until 10 so we walked abit further and found an Italian cafe open where we had a really good breakfast that kept us going for the journey back.
We caught our train and sat with a family who were visiting from India. We had a great conversation comparing our different life styles. They were surprised at how many houses had chimneys and open fires and about the amount of cheese we eat. Their son was a keen photographer especially birds so we had a lot to talk about. He showed us some of the photos he had taken of the birds in India and he was keen to take photos of the British wildlife.
Home now, feels like we've been away for much longer.
Just found out we just missed the World naked bike ride in Edinburgh that's on tomorrow, hope it's warmer then ;)
