Not a budgie
I took a short wander along the Water Of Leith and stopped to watch a Moor Hen who appeared to be building a nest in the middle of the river, this seemed a bit odd to me :
1. Isn't it the wrong time of year to be building a nest?
2. If the water level rises (as it does during heavy rain) it would get washed away.
Anyway while watching and photographing the Moor Hen for a while, a couple swans swam past, some ducks came over (probably looking for bread), there was of course a number of sea gulls around and a lone cormorant swam past, I snapped a couple pictures of it swimming and then it hopped up onto a stick and proceeded to preen itself. It sat there for some time giving me plenty shots from different angles, this I think was one of the best.
