Sherlock is back!

No, not the TV show but the statue.

The statue of Sherlock Holmes was removed from Picardy Place about three years ago due to the tram works and "they" finally got around to putting him back (actually they put him back a couple weeks ago but this is the first time I've been nearby with my camera).

For those that don't know (I didn't for a long time), Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (the author of the Sherlock Holmes stories) was born in Edinburgh (at 11 Picardy Place).
