'Allo, 'Allo....

Before I start, I have to say that I have been on the gin...again.

So....Pat and I went on a jolly jaunt to Ramsbottom as it is the 1940s weekend. I often go, but I haven't been on a stream train for years....today we did. We steamed to Bury and then back to Ramsbottom. I love steam trains....the deep chug as they take off and then all that steam and power. We listened to singers, we had a cuppa, we had an ice cream. A spiv showed me his wares in the corner of the churchyard. It was great fun.

I dropped Pat off then I went to Bents and bought plants. I have planted them in pots and baskets outside the front of the house and they are looking lovely and colourful. As I was elbow deep in potting compost Jude rang and asked if I was up for a G&T....I was!

Jude said she would pick me up, but as I walked to the end of my road I saw a man walking his owl on the Green. Well, I couldn't walk away from that, could I. I went over and said hello. Bobby, the owl, was gorgeous and would fly a little way then when he called her she just flew up onto his shoulder. He told me he has baby owls at home and `i could go and take pics of them whenever I want to....that's not like 'come and see my puppies' is it? lol. Anyway, I'm going to go. The trouble is I can't remember if he said his name was Andrew....or Michael......I think.

So....I sat in the garden at Jude's and we had a few long G&Ts. Mary was there too and it was all very nice. I love it when I walk home and the edges are pleasantly blurred.

I have to be up early though as I'm off to Chester tomorrow......
