And I'll show you all the photographs
Today we have been vair busy. Vair, Vair Busy.
Up Sharp, down to Market, Get the Shopping, home for a cuppa, then up to Glasgow for a lunch date...
We arrived in Glasgow, wandered down Renfield Street, and headed for the Clockwork Orange :-D
It's been years since we have been on it - the last time, it was like walking into a darkened sewer. The offices were dark, the stairs were dark, the heat was intense, and the smell overwhelming.
I smiled as I saw that the St Enoch's Station now had a bright white and glass entrance way , and even more delighted to see that the bright white theme continued throughout. The smell was still there, but maybe with the bright light feel, it was less offensive.
Glasgow's Underground is like a toy version of other cities - you can only stand straight up in the middle, and when it drives between stations it rattles your bones so hard you don't think you'll be in one piece when you depart.
but we reached our destination - Kelvin Bridge. We were looking forward to revisiting this part of the city it was our home for 2 years. It's definitely more up market than it was then. Fewer Studenty shops and more designer shops, funky wine bars and bistros.
The Mallard was lovely - We had a cocktail each, and then Baked Trout to start, with Fennel Salad, and some funky caper'd sour cream. Then burgers.... with the best fried onions ever.
And then we were too stuffed to move.
So we had another drinke.
And then Coffee,
And then we wandered up Great Western Road, so familiar to us.
Then we wandered down Byres Road, which was our evening haunt before Boy arrived. We had one in Curlers for old times sake.
We had a look in Tennants, but as the Football was on, we decided against stopping.
Then it was back on the underground, and then we headed for the station - and when we stopped for a pint Arsenal V Chelsea was on - and himself was enjoying it so much.... we had to stay, for several drinks.
So now we are home.
Emotional and tired, but having walked 16 ,000 steps.
:-)
