Waiting for the tropical weather

After breakfast we took a walk down to Smoo Cave. We were not able to go in the rubber boat further in as there had been too much water coming into the cave from previous rain in the mountains.

We drove over to the little ferry to Cape Wrath but we could not park the van nearby. We found a place back along the road but decided against the half mile walk in the rain to the open boat as it was very wet by then. The forecast is better for tomorrow.

When the rain stopped we drove to Balnakeil beach. It stretched for miles so I did my 10,000 steps easily. It was so lovely with turquoise sea and white sand.

We had a few communication difficulties trying to get in touch with friends Katy and Colin - they were driving the way we'd come yesterday so either they or we were out of signal. However they'd seen our picture of the lovely spot we'd stayed last night so headed there and we met up for a few drinks.
