Surprise camp - another burial cairn!

We had a lovely wild camp last night at Clava Cairns near Culloden - what a gorgeous find - you'd think after a week on the Orkney islands we might have seen plenty 5000 year old burial cairns!

The only downside was that people parked up in their cars to eat takeaway food so in this morning I was out with the bin bag to tidy up coke cans, burger wrappers and ketchup sachets. I've read that camper vans get a bad press for leaving litter but until last night, when we were the only van there but where lots of people parked up in cars, we've seen no litter.

We spent this gorgeous sunny day stewing in the van driving home. We found today the air-con does not work so I hope that can be sorted out before we go to France in a couple of weeks!

It was cooler in Northumberland than in Perthshire, as there was a breeze. The van has been unloaded, I've done 3 lots of washing and -bliss- had a lovely shower. Daughter has booked the Edinburgh site for a few days over half term. We've had a wonderful trip - I'm feeling bad I did not agree to having a van years ago. Mr C is such a good driver which meant he loved the journey.
