J drove us up to Walton Hall in order for us to attend a session on "Tricky Topics" (just the maths kind, folks!). It took place in the Jenny Lee Building, which is Emsie's favourite. During our wide ranging conversation last night we'd mentioned various seminars/workshops we'd attended over the years and J said that one she'd been to only a couple of days ago had turned out to be really useful, which she hadn't expected. When she said it was about mental health I suggested Emsie's name and sure enough, it was an unsolicited testimonial for a fellow blipper!

The tree in front of the building is the venerable mulberry tree, with many of its limbs propped up.

Mid-afternoon I trained back up the West coast line. My window seat was by a pillar rather than a window, so the extra is one of the few I managed to snap. Everything was very green and lush almost everywhere (except Warrington, as ever). Mr Dave met me at the station and we went across to the Guildford for a cooling pint. Then I got a text from Shandonner to say that they were in the Vaults, so we jumped on a no 22 and joined them for a further pint and a dram or two. Excellent!
