I suggested to J that if it ever came to this, it would be hard to beat this place - the Convent of Las Duenas.

Beautiful roses within an exquisite 16th Century cloister, and the most wonderful richly carved beasts, faces and flowers decking the tops of the columns (a couple of shots in the extras). Some of the carving is remarkably modern in style.
