Competition time
The slow train from Salamanca to Madrid this morning.
There were a lot of people at the station as we waited for our train, all wearing sponsored red tops. Investigation found that 300 people had registered for the "Gaceta of Salamanca photographic marathon". Starting with a group photo at 10.15 they then had to take a specified photo at 10 locations in the city, some at a precise time. They were all studying the folder of notes they each received on arrival at the station. The red tops get them into some locations that are not normally open to the public.
Checking the website, I see there are prizes. Translated from the Spanish by an app I found, these seem to be:
"The first prize is 600 euros; The second, an electric unicycle and the third, a night in the Castle of Good Love. In addition there is a prize of the public, which will be equipped with a television, and another for seniors over 60 years, with a tasting menu for two. Children under 16 years of age opt for one year of free Coca-Cola products. There is also a special award for the best photographic series, which will get a weekend in Mallorca for two people with all expenses paid".
I'm not sure about the translation for that third prize ! But the event certainly looked good fun.
