A Darwinian sunset
A leisurely day in Darwin today. Morning rest and then spent a couple of hours (including lunch) at the Botanical Gardens. Late afternoon I had a short run.
Then this evening we had a sunset harbour cruise on a boat built in the 1970s as a working fishing boat, and used as such for almost thirty years, until the Northern Territory commercial fishermen began using it for this purpose. The fish they provide for the main course is caught earlier in the day. Cooked on board.
They don't advertise themselves as Eco, as does one of their competitors, but they do seem to be environmentally friendly. I also was taken with their choice of music which had a nostalgic flavor with a twist of political message.
As the sun became lower in the sky, and the colours of sunset deepened, the boat we were on was travelling faster than a catamaran with a single sail. I had already taken a number of photos, but I had in mind a particular image. This is it.
Tomorrow we get on The Ghan, the train that runs once a week from Darwin to Adelaide. There is variable access to wifi, so I'll likely be backblipping after we reach Adelaide on Saturday.
