Banksia Flower

The light was just beautiful out here this afternoon and I had been eyeing off a bush of banksias for a couple of days.  These incredible flowers never cease to amaze me.  They are so intricate and so perfectly formed.

I had tried to take the black cockatoos this morning.  They were flying overhead en masse this morning but every time I heard them and ran outside with the camera they were either behind the trees or the house.  Very frustrating!!
