One Crowded Hour

fry up

Western Australia has some 12,000 species of wildflower and at one of our regular walking spots, every day there is something new to see.
Ths the 'egg and bacon' flower which grows on a straggly, prickly bush and on this particular walk is everywhere. Quite lovely and in the sun positively glows against the normally grey-green foliage.

Haven't been able to find out why it has this common name. Perhaps the early settlers saw them growing and the colours reminded them of a Sunday morning fry up!
