sunrise, sunset

I was awake at 4.30 this morning, opened the window so I could hear the dawn chorus, went back to bed and got up 2 hours later. Or so I thought...I let jess out, made some coffee, had breakfast, and was about to leave for work when I looked at the clock and saw that it was only 6.15...I'd got up an hour early! Well it was a lovely morning and I was nice and early for work, and also I saw a female pied flycatcher in the garden, which is good news because we've had a male singing at the top of his voice for the past couple of days.

I had two meetings after work and by the time I cycled home, the sun was setting. I always like taking photos of these maize fields covered with corn starch. They make great patterns but the carbon footprint must be pretty high...imagine growing corn to make plastic to cover maize to feed cows to feed people...does that make sense to you?

I'm having an early night tonight :-)
