Bright and Breezy!

First things first, we came second in the pub quiz :-D

As the forecast was good again for today we decided that we would go out for the day!

After a reasonable night we were up, breakfasted and on the road just after ten, heading for sunny, but very blustery Southport.

We put our body warmers on the back seat at the very last minute, and boy were we glad we had! Sat off towards the Pier.....the wind was really quite cold, Even with a t shirt and thick jumper on, so hub nipped back for our coats.
we got blown up the entire length of the Pier and were ready for a cappuccino by the time we got to the end. It was pretty deserted, as you can see from the extra.....oh, and yes, that funny shaped thing is me ;-)

We walked back towards the old Carousel, which was not in operation today....we sat in the sun, protected by the Funland arcade, unfortunately our ears were bashed by some guy singing outside the pub opposite, he thought he was Neil Diamond.......more of a rough diamond if you ask me :-0 We then headed to Lord Street. We were quite surprised at just how many shops are vacant, such a shame!

Then it was the obligatory fish & chip lunch with a cuppa and then in an effort to walk it off, we walked up along the main road, past the childrens play area, through the gardens with their lovely fountains......only a handful of people around, lovely and quiet ;-) Then back along the lake edge, where I took todays blip of its easily recognisable bridge with its lanterns. We conti ued arou d the waters edge that eventually lead us back to th car park.

We decided to drive back through Banks and a couple of other rural areas, that we really like, to see if we could see any bungslows for sale.
We are on the look out.....nothing definite, other than over the next couple of years, we will probably move from our larger family house and downsize somewhat :-)

We stopped off at Sootys, a market garden that we really like, to buy some more plants for our baskets and containers. Think we have got most of them now, its down to me to get on with planting them all up now!!! Might make a start over the weekend, weather permitting.

Some watering was needed when we got home.......then we sat in th garden with a cup of tea, hub reading his paper, me looking at the River Cruises brochures......to decide on one for next summer ;-)

I made duck with spring onions, pineapple, in a chilli and hoisin sauce, with crispy noodles for dinner, very light and tasty :-)

Just settling down to watch the new Jamestown drama on tv now.

Hope its a good weekend for all :-)
