Hungry cat

Answered the doorbell today to an enquiry from a concerned passer-by, who had seen a young cat narrowly miss being knocked down in the road. Was it ours? No, but the very friendly cat, clearly less than a year old, wearing a blue collar and apparently very hungry, needed a bit of TLC.
Made enquiries with neighbours, but nobody seemed to know whose pet it was. So I gave it some cat food, which it scoffed with frantic haste, then let it free at the bottom of the garden, a long way from the road. Hope it finds its way safely home.
