rhapsody in blue

This is the first Meconopsis to flower in our garden this year. I bought one at a plant sale when we moved down here almost 20 years ago and now have quite a few. Such a beautiful blue :-)

Cycled to work again this morning. As well as the usual meal preparations, the kitchen staff were getting ready for Sunday, when The Usual Place is providing the catering for the Open Garden Day at Portrack - the garden of cosmic Speculation. It's only open one day a year so is always popular. Look at the 100's of scones Bill has been baking (extra). 

Tonight is my April bivvy. I'm so tired I might just sleep through the dawn chorus, but I hope not.
