Salt Lake City
Another full on day.
Up early for trip to airport. A bumpy ride to Salt Lake City. Dumped bags and decided to head out to look about. We are surrounded by snow capped mountains and there is a fair chill in the air.
Found a tourists information centre at 2.50. By 3.00 we were being picked up from the centre taken back to our hotel where I picked up my costume and towel and was driven to the big salt lake. It's 70 miles long and around 28 miles wide. It has a huge island in the middle. As its name suggests....extremely salty. I took a dip. Pretty cold and it was blowing a gale. I was quite happy jumping the waves. To think I had that whole lake to myself. Pick in extras.
Returned to hotel, showered and went off to find food.
From there we walked to Temple Square. Met a spaceman on the way....another extra.
Luck on our side again as on Thursdays you can go in and listen to the choir rehearsing. It was fantastic. I've never heard anything quite like it. The temple was huge. So many beautiful buildings in the square. They looked nicer lit up at night.
Walked back and collected some provisions for the room. I love American supermarkets. Andy not keen on this one as they didn't sell wine.
Another full day tomorrow. We are heading to Cottonwood Canyon. I might pack my swim things....just in case ;)
