Matlacha

Looks a lot like Key West or Margueritaville, but it is pronounced Mat-la-chay.  A little artsy enclave on the way to our friends house on Pine Island.  So bright and picturesque.  

Today was our last full day here and though we'll miss some aspects of it, i.e., being on vacation, we are both looking forward to heading home where I hope spring will have arrived this week.

Extras are the marina in Punta Gorda where we had dinner tonight.
As I took a little walk this morning to map out the route for our friend Barb who we had breakfast with today, I came across this little Burrowing Owl and her nest (which was burrowed into the ground).  Pretty amazing.  She stood watch all day in the very hot sun on an empty lot with no trees.
