Mary Had A Little Lamb

Those were the first words ever recorded on  the phonograph that Edison invented.  Today we visited his summer house in Ft Myers, Florida.  A beautiful and very interesting place.  Apparently, he and Henry Ford (Ford automobiles) had summer houses next door to each other for several years until T.E. died in 1931.  Henry Ford never came back to Ft. Myers when his good friend died.  The photo ops were great again today so I've posted a couple of extras.

Sometimes you just have to stop and smell the flowers and Edison's lab here in Ft. Myers.  He only spent a few months a year here and a lot of his work was in trying to figure out a way to grow rubber trees here in the US so he wouldn't have to import it from overseas.  The trees on the property were amazing, banyan, frangipani, one fig tree that took up an acre of land! Fascinating.
