Captain Jim
I've known Jim and his wife Mary Lou as long as I've known Jon. They were roommates in the Navy in 1968 and found out they came from towns next to each other. We lived in Massachusetts and California before New Jersey (where they were from). We were great friends during the early years and after many years of marriage, we both decided to have children well into our 30s. Though we've lost touch with them over the last nearly 50 years, we always seem to come back together. One of Jim's retirement pastimes is working very part time at the local harbor master's dock where they rent boats to visitors and as such can take a boat out anytime for an hour or a day. So today we went out for several hours on the gulf and bays around Pine Island on a very comfortable pontoon boat. A lunch time picnic, a stiff breeze and a lot of sun. Very fun. I put Mary Lou in the extras along with a very nice piece of property we'd have to win the multimillion dollar lottery to even think about owning and one of Jon as well.
Correction here: Jim and Mary Lou actually belong to a boat club that does work for the local Harbor Master. They raise funds and keep the marina area neat and tidy. They pay a monthly fee to belong to the club and the boat rental is a result of that.
