Laid Out Flat at Nubble Light

It was a pretty good lighthouse day.

We got our first sniff of the ocean at York Beach, Maine. 53 minutes of parking for my 75 cents. Hard to find free parking anywhere along the Maine coast.

2 out of the 3 lighthouses were in poor light, including this one. This should be a late afternoon shot. We got there at 9:30 a.m. I scrambled down some rocks... found some saltwater puddles...stretched out on the rocks...and snapped away. The only trouble was geting back up to my feet.

I wish we could escape the traffic on Highway 1. Where are all these people coming from? Lotsa cars...lotsa back-ups.

Arrived at Portland Head Light about 3 p.m., where we had a beautiful late picnic lunch. Nothing beats the smell and the sounds of the ocean. Wish I could bottle it up, and take it home.

Portland Head is spectacular. Commissioned by George Washington himself. Situated high on a bluff. Nicely maintained. I could stare at it for hours. Please have a look at my Flickr page to see it, along with the other lighthouse.

I back blipped the last 2 days. I would try to link them, but I forgot how.

Spending the night in Bath, Maine. I wont take a bath in Bath, but I may take a shower. Will catch up as I can.
