The Grinch and the Grouch
Finally...I got a chance to pose along something that I can relate to. A grouchy old Grinch that is a pretty good egg in the end.
Springfield, Massachusetts. Basketball Hall of Fame? NO...WE WON'T GO! We dribbled the oppurtunity away. Volleyball Hall of Fame? NO...WE WON'T GO! (Name me one volleyball player besides Kirch Kiraly.) We bumped, set, and spiked our way away from there.
Instead...we went to the Dr. Seuss Memorial. We set the Long. and the Lat., and we found the Cat in the Hat. Imagine that! Made you feel like a kid to pose next to the many statures. Made us feel like going to breakfast for green eggs and ham.
Springfield Armory next. The factory made riflles from the Revolutionary War...all the way through World War 2. Lots of weapons and machinery. Interesting to see how technology advanced.
The last history lesson was near Boston, Mass. The Saugas Iron Works. They started making iron products in the late 1600's. The Puritans started the place, but couldn't keep their workers away from the bars and the wild women. Imagine that.
Spending the night in Portsmouth, NH. President Obama comes here tomorrow. Had a big supper at one of our favorite seafood joints. Good, but probably not too good for you. Maine on the morrow. More photos on my Flickr page. Have a look.
