Feeling mellow.

Now sitting in a quiet house soaking up the peace. We have had friends from the USA staying for several days. There has been much merriment, much political discussion, much eating and drinking and of course much sight seeing. Now they are on route to the airport, I have the first load of laundry on and it's raining!
This photograph was taken yesterday afternoon when we dipped over the Border to visit Duddo Standing Stones, a quite impressive circle of neolithic sandstones with commanding views all round. This view is south looking towards The Cheviot, the largest hill in the Cheviot range. To it's left is Yeavering Bell. The walk to the stones is fun at this time of year, a path through fields of rapeseed leads to the small mound with the stones. Both dogs thoroughly enjoyed finding other paths to explore within this yellow jungle!

A couple of extra pics showing the stones and a view east towards the Eildon Hills.
