Muirburn
Instead of driving home via the A1, I came over the hill route from Haddington. The road is beautifully quiet and at it's highest point in the Lammermuir hills the views are good in most directions. The Firth of Forth sweeps along with the Bass Rock and the Isle of May prominent. To the south are acres of hill top moor land and to the east is the ever increasing growth of wind turbines at Cyrstal Rig wind farm. I do find these things a blight on the landscape however I now choose to not see them! At this time of year the grouse moors are alive with the sight and scent of heather burning or as we call it in Scotland...muirburn. Fortunately I parked upwind of the burning and walked the dogs with only the sight of burning in my view.
