MonoMonday: Corners

We got back on the bikes this morning for the first time since we got back from holiday. It was one of those days when, no matter which corner you turned, the wind still seemed to be blowing directly into your face.

We stopped for a view of the River Brue from the bridge which used to carry steam trains over the river on the old Somerset & Dorset line. The ironwork of the bridge provides plenty of corners for today's challenge.

When I was a boy, there was a small parade of 6 shops a couple of streets away on our council estate; a trip to these shops was always called "going round the corner" ( in fact, it meant going round far more than one!) and I was often sent "round the corner" to get some small item. If I was lucky, I met get sixpence for some sweets or a packet of crisps. I hadn't thought about this old phrase for ages until today's challenge sparked this memory.

We spent the afternoon tidying up the garden and baking some olive bread.
