From The Sun To Jupiter ....
.... and back again. That's how far we walked this afternoon, along the Taunton to Bridgwater Canal.
The Somerset Spacewalk is a sculptural installation that runs in both directions along the canal towpath from this spot, where the Sun is situated.
It is a scale representation of the solar system, both in terms of the distance between each planet and the size of each planet sculpture. To give you an idea of scale, the sculpture of the Earth is about the size of a golf ball.
Our walk to Jupiter and back took about 30 minutes each way. If you go large, you may be able to read the information about the Spacewalk on the circular plaques on the Sun.
