Up in the hills
Friday
Observant scholars with some knowledge of Ohio landscape may recognize we are not currently at home in Ohio! We got up at 4.30 this morning to get down to the airport for an 8.15 flight to Salt Lake City to visit our daughter and son-in-law. It's been almost a year since we saw Jen, and even longer since we saw Jason. With the two hour time difference, we arrived in Salt lake around 10.30. The flight had been good, except for a rather turbulent descent and landing. Jen was there to meet us and we returned to their apartment for coffee and the rest of the morning, then it was time to return to the airport (no more than 20 minutes away) to meet our son Philip, flying in from Phoenix for the weekend. We had visited them in Salt Lake for Thanksgiving of 2015, but they have moved apartment since, so it was nice to see their new place. Overalll it is quite an improvement on the last one, the only draw-back being a small living room. After lunch, Jen took us for a walk up in the hills. Unfortunately the skies were rather grey, but at least it was dry, and we enjoyed quite a long walk, seeing only one other person! If you were to follow the hills around to the left you would find some snow left on the higher peaks, but winter is definitely losing its grip. In the city itself things were looking really Spring like, with blossom trees in bloom and many trees comIng into the fresh green leaf of Spring. Since the apartment isn't big enough to sleep all of us, we had booked an Airbnb for us to sleep in, where we retired to before 10 am, feeling rather tired after our early morning start, plus a two-hour time difference, making it almost midnight by our body clocks!
