Auld Wife o Aester
It's been a lovely day. A bit dull in the morning, but the clouds soon cleared and been a lovekly warm and sunny afternoon. There has been an odd light shower this evening.
Weekend off work, well bits of it, and I slept well this morning. After breakfast, a walk with Sammy and then headed down to Cunningsburgh to do updates for a website with mam. After lunch, we headed out for a walk along the banks. Great to hear the sky larks sing, and smell the fresh spring air. Although it's my weekend off work, I'm having to cover in the museum tonight. Hopefully it won't be a long night.
The ground wasn't too wet for our walk, but the lack of stiles and loads of barbed wire seemed to be a problem, it never used to be! We finally made it to the broch. This is the old natural statue below the Aithsetter broch. If you use a little imagination, you'll see an old woman sitting in her chair, and notice she's busy knitting a garment. Also note the Maalies sitting on her head! This was always a favourite walk of mine, ever since I was a peerie boy. Taken at Blue Geo, Aithsetter, Cunningsburgh.
