Cumbria Here I Come

Binsey summit

As you can see I've been fell walking today! Nothing too major mind you as I'm so unfit, that's what happens when you have old dogs! Its been such a nice day today and I really didn't want to spend the day in the office doing paperwork, so after I'd walked Bonnie on the marsh this morning, I got ready and went!

Binsey is a relatively small fell not far from Bothel along the Keswick road. For a small fell the views from the top are magnificent of the fells nr Caldbeck, Skiddaw and Bassenthwaite as well as numerous others and not forgetting over the Solway to Scotland. I didn't see a soul until I was walking downhill when I met 2 girls on their way up and judging by what they were carrying on their backs they had a long walk ahead of them!

It was quite windy at the top as it usually is and very overcast at times over the fells whereas over towards the Solway it was clear blue sky. I really enjoyed the walk but it was very very strange not having a dog with me and yes I did feel guilty :(

Oh whilst I've been typing this I've just seen my photo of Derwentwater from the other day, on the tv weather section. They've just shown a collection of them :) Derwentwater
