Skylark Territory

In complete contrast to yesterday, it's been gloomy and damp. After a bit of gardening this morning, I went for a local wander. There were plenty of small flocks of birds on the move - Goldfinches, Golden Plover, Lapwings, Starlings and Fieldfare. But the star bird of my walk was the Skylark - every few hundred yards, there was a bird proclaiming its territory. We are so lucky to have so many of these iconic birds within earshot!
