Punta Nati Lighthouse

We walked to the Punta Nati Lighthouse, this morning. This is one of the 7 Menorcan Light Houses situated around the coast.
We walked between miles of drystone walls that cross the remote, flat, rocky, tree-less, landscape .......with only flocks of sheep surviving on the poor vegetation.
The lighthouse was opened in 1913, as a result of pressure from the French Government, following too many ships being wrecked in this northern area of Menorca.
The light itself stands about 46m above sea level, and its 'Welcome Light' can be seen up to 16 nautical miles away.

Apparently, this is a great place, in the summer, to enjoy wonderful sunsets......and is very popular........with the island of Mallorca just visible on the horizon.
