Dangerous pavements
My new fitness regime - instead of going to the gym for half an hour, I go walking for at least an hour - is much more sustainable. But it includes two early morning aquafit and gym visits per week. This could work quite well.
So we set off for the Links, but unfortunately timed it for the release of the local high school pupils for their lunchtime marauding and littering in the neighbourhood. I exaggerate not. They swarm towards other pavement users in bunches, yelling at each other, effing and blinding, and one has to step aside lest one is trampled underfoot. And that's just the girls.
We did reach the Links in one piece, and Archie had a good run around. Normally, I'd then walk home while JR and Archie would go the long way around through the Meadows. But, today I walked the long way round.
Home for a snack lunch and watching the final episode of A Place to Call Home. While I'm quite sad to see it finish, it really was getting more and more ridiculous...
Two new dog borrowers arrived to meet Archie. He went through all his tricks, including catching carrots. They were suitably impressed. They took him out for a walk round the block. As they stepped out the door in bright sunshine and blue skies, hailstones started to fall on them!
Here, JR and Archie are looking across to the city, with the castle temporarily in the shade. We'd just crossed the road, so Archie was on the lead, but not for long.
I was puggled when I got home, but I know it did me more good than six minutes on the crosstrainer.
