Convoy

10.2C starting wet then clearing to sunny and bright with some cloud. WSW wind to 24 mph with gusts to 31 mph then moderate WSW/W breeze.

Last night there was a meeting of The Kintyre Antiquarian and Natural History Society. The talk was entitled A Life in Archaeology and featured Argyll sites. A bit dry. Before the main talk there was a short presentation by an archivist on the projects connected with the cinema restoration and that was much better. More exiting. We are hoping we might be able to get involved at some level. Raiders of the Lost Archive is the working title ... and there is a very good archive it seems.

Maeve the Deerhound slept through until the alarm clock ... hooray !

After lunch Maeve and I went for the repeat of the morning walking route across the road and round to the park and the harbour and back along through town. BBC Bahrain was being loaded with the wind turbine tower sections at quite a rate. Making the best of the lighter wind. Convoys of tower sections came along at regular intervals.

Once Maeve was back home and settled I went for a walk. I went round past Aquilibrium and had a wander round the old quay. Then I went on round the harbour and along the little park by the ferry terminal and out Kilkerran road to the mile marker then I came back. A ship was waiting in the loch to come in to the new quay. It will take on the wood that is piled up. I came back along the street side of the park and came home through town passing the town hall and the bookshop (open).
