First day out

On Saturday I felt confident to take my mom out of the facility for a walk around the community college close by and past some lovely open spaces where crows and geese and even herons hang out. We had a good time, though of course much of the conversation was about how she wanted to go home. I then stayed with her for dinner and went back to her room, where I found many of her possessions stuck here and there. I'm learning as I go. To get laundry done, I might have to unearth it from the boxes and bags of possessions that she stashes here and there. The good thing about having lots of doodads is that it gives her a lot of visual stimulation and something to fiddle with. The bad thing is that it gives her lots of ways to hide things--washcloths, food, dirty clothes, etc. I had a generally positive feeling about the day, though.
