Murmuration, River Penk

The bush telegraph suggested the possibility of a murmuration not far from work.  I took a detour to check out the rumour and spent a very pleasant hour with some other photographers.  I was in exalted company, standing next to wildlife photographers whose work I have admired for many years.  They freely shared their knowledge and experience to help this novice create a half decent image.  

By the time this was taken it was really dark, perhaps 15 minutes after sunset.The cloudy background was difficult to deal with so I tried to find a moment when the murmuration was positioned in the light portion of the sky.
