Ratho Marina

Went to Ratho. Walked for 40 minutes along the canal. Turned around and walked 40 minutes back. What a difference on this part of the canal compared with walking along the Edinburgh section. We only saw three people on the whole of our walk. But do you know what?................ I still had to stay on my lead. Boo hoo. Whenever we walk along the Edinburgh section we see loads of cyclists and Ann's always worried that I'll walk in front of them and make them tipple topple off their bikes into the canal. Today I had to stay on my lead because apparently I couldn't be trusted not to go splish, splash, sploshing and the water didn't look particularly clean.

…...................And the other thing......................... Since when did Ratho have a marina? True the last time Ann was at Ratho was probably more than 40 years ago, when all there was at Ratho was a few houses and a canal. But it's a right 'trendy' place now.

…............Oh and here's a question for all you clever Blippers..................... When a marina is built alongside a canal; where does the water come from? Well, obviously it comes from the canal but does that mean that the whole level of the water in the canal drops because water has been taken out and redirected somewhere else? And while we're on the subject of water in canals................ It's not like they have water sources that flow in and out of them, eg rivers, so when it rains lots and lots the water in the canal must rise so where does the excess water go? Obviously it must go somewhere otherwise there would be a lot of flooding around canals in heavy rain?!! Perhaps Ann should do some googling.



And in other news.................. Continuing on with the 'trying to buy a new car saga''.................. Thank you to everyone on Blip & FB who suggested various different makes most of which were too expensive. The real problem is finding a car that has a boot that is low enough for me to jump into. Ann loved the look of 'Citroen Cactus' but the boot is just not suitable for a gorgeous little collie like me. I'm too old to be able to jump up and over to get into it.



And while we're talking about cars; we'll just have a teeny, weeny little rant! Phoned Fiat (a different dealership from the one that let us down) and Renault. Both said they'd phone us back and haven't. Phoned Citroen and Peugeot and nobody even bothered to answer their phones?! #Doesnoonewantotsellacarthesedays
