#ANGRY

6 years ago Ann bought a new car. Check it out here! Reliability is very important to her because she regularly drives long distances by herself. Obviously I travel with her, but apparently I'm no help when things go wrong. Soooo at the end of last week Ann spent almost 3 hours faffing about and buying a new car. Buying a new car is not really something that interests Ann. She had three criteria for her new car:

1)  The boot has to be low enough for me to jump in easily. I'm not getting any younger and neither is Ann so I'm not able to jump up and over a boot that has a high lip thing.

2)  Ideally we want sliding back doors so that Ann can throw all her shopping onto the back seats as it's such a hassle opening car doors in supermarket car parks.

3)  We'd like a 'funky' colour. Ie not white because then we get called 'white van man' and not red because it would look like a postie van.

After investigating the Citreon Nemo, Renault Kangoo and Peugeot Bipper (and discovering that none of them make the car version any more) we resigned ourselves to buying another Fiat Qubo in 'Disco Green'. Paid the deposit last Friday, for delivery on 1st March. Whoopee doo.

Now it turns out that there was a 'glitch at the other end' and there is no such car available. #ANGRY. Apparently there is a different version in red?!  BUT................. if we're buying a brand new car why would we accept it in a different colour than what we wanted and a different spec from what we wanted. Ann has demanded her deposit back and now we're back to square one.

Are there any 'car techy Blippers' out there that can suggest a good reliable car for us. Realise that we'll probably have to forgo the sliding back doors, but a boot that an 'old gorgeous little collie' can jump into easily and a funky colour would be good.

Also we realise that we are now probably unable to buy a new car by 1st March. Bit of a snob – like the new number plate on 1st March. And that means that we're going to have to tax, MOT & service the car that we have now. Will we get a better trade in price once we've done that? Salesman said we would. But who believes a salesman???

OK, that's the rant over. Ann's off out tonight to meet up with a load of primary teachers that she taught with 30 years ago, so obviously lots of wine will have been consumed by the time she comes home and takes me out for my bedtime wee.  As for me; I had a lovely long walk this afternoon and now I'm having some well deserved snooze time.

Happy Weekend Blippers. xx
