Pictorial blethers

Lonely glen

For all that this part of Glen Massan is only 30 minutes walk from the back of Benmore Gardens, it always seems lonely and far from the town, especially as dusk falls on a winter afternoon. I fear I have blipped this view before - it's one of my favourites, with that little farm reminding me of a painting I grew up with by an Irish artist, Paul Henry. I was intending to add an extra photo of the painting, but at this time of night I can't get one without reflections in the glass; another time, perhaps.

So my extra photo today is of another big change taking place in the landscape at the mouth of the glen, where a big chunk of forest is being harvested. It's amazing how it opens up the landscape - until the new crop begins to grow tall.
