Gideon Mantell

Made a start on my Gideon Mantell lino design this afternoon. This is my first attempt at a portrait so I've chosen someone whose name may be well known but whose portrait isn't widely recognised. Mantell was born in Lewes where he later went into medical practice. He is best known however as a palaeontologist and for his reconstruction of the Iguanodon.
I thought this might sit well within my series of fossil prints.
