It is wet and miserable - of course it is it's a Bank Holiday.

Spent the morning preparing food for friends. One coming from the Isle of Man en route for Italy (where she has a house) and the other joining us for a meal tonight.

I have made cheese scones for when she arrives and then I have made a starter (pinched from Jane - Thanks Jane) with Feta and watermelon, which Chris won't like but I can get away with it with visitors here. I also prepared the sweet.

This is our only (nearly) red tomato this year! Perhaps I should slice it to go on the cheese scones.

Chris is making the main course - appropriately Nigel Slater's Baked Chicken with Green Tomatoes and Olives!

Looking forward to seeing everybody and even more to joining H in Italy in mid September where we can but hope the weather will be kind.
