Xmas Eve and something is spoiling our holidays

When I got up just before 5:00 this morning and looked out of the bathroom window, it was clear that the Atlantic was having a major party.

Huge rollers coming in off the South Atlantic have closed many beaches in the Cape and in a couple of places, forced evacuations as extreme tides are causing bad flooding. Shame for those down here on holiday, but at least, it makes for good pics ;-)
