A Bit Of Colour..........

.......on a gloomy day.

The phone went at 06.30.
SWMBO's step father died at 03.15.
Apart from a cold, he was fine yesterday and has obviously come as a shock.

So I have been doing a fair bit of running about.
One of jobs was to take SWMBO to and from the hairdresser - who has been cutting the hair of the women in the family for over 30 years and was visibly shaken at the news. Even the leaves overlooking the river outside her house looked distressed.
The ribbons on the trees at the nursery seemed to fit with the feeling of the day as well.

The saving graces the events are that 
a) Bill didn't suffer - it was virtually instant (whereas others close to us over the last few years have all been painfully slow and lingering)
b) The paramedics, police and undertakers who attended were all consummate proffesionals
c) All documents (eg. death certificate, Registrars release note etc.) were made available straight away and  funeral date should be given tomorrow.

I think I might just have a whisky and raise a toast to Bill.
