I'll Never Find A Better Prize

Life steamrollers straight ahead.

Tooli has had the busiest year of her life to date ; Last Year at School, Head Girl, Volleyball for Scotland in Cyprus and Malta, Rockness, Prom, Girls Holiday, and coming soon, University.

However the current preoccupation is work.

Due to Sporting and School commitments, apart from self-employed paper deliveries a "proper job" was always out of the question. I did suggest to her, that, like an old friend, she set up a photocopier in her bedroom, and service local businesses with lovely stickers and name signs. She looked at me weirdly when I suggested that and said, I don't think there is enough space. But my old friend ran a very successful business with two photocopies and some sticky back plastic. I was always very impressed with the quality of his work!

However, Tooli has now secured herself a job, and this job provides Si and I with countless hours of entertainment. Initially, we have the "exhaustion" factor. She worked 4 hour shifts, and was unable to move from the couch, or her bed when she came in.

Then it was the "having to do things", which would be the day to day business of the job.

Then she turned 18, and her shifts went up from 4 hours, to 6 or 8 hours, and multiple days. The complaints of exhaustion were amazing. We waited for her one evening from the train station, in a parking space, and she came out the far away door and looked towards her dad.... pleading with her "exhausted" face for him to move the car closer to help her exhausted legs.

But this is the moment we enjoy the most; when she comes home and in full flow tells us of her day.... Today was extra specially exciting and this animated conversation went on for quite a while and gave us both a great giggle!
