And I just Can't Look It's Killing me....
Camping in Cornwall one year. We did Eden, the Maritime Museum, the Minnack Theatre.... and the Cider Farm.
If I have one memory of that holiday, it was the cider farm. Oh heavens. We wanted a cream tea and did we find one. Lovely ladies in the farm kitchen made scones all day, fruit and plain and treacle. The smell of warm scones coming from the restaurant was beautiful. The cream tea consisted of two scones, a pot of tea, a bowl of clotted cream and strawberry jam.
It was so lovely. Perfect in fact. I drool just thinking about it.
When Tooli and I visited Edinburgh we stopped off for a cream tea. It wasn't in the same league by any means, nothing could be, and it was made more perturbing for Tooli because it was fruit scones. Tooli hates fruit scones, and she sat and picked them out, one by one and really enjoyed the bits of scone she scavenged.
So as a treat tonight I made Toolibelle some scones of her own. No fruit, just sugar, and flour and butter and milk.... and Jam and I've kept a wee bit of clotted cream for her!
