Fishing Boats at the Old Quay
7.7C cloudy and dull. Moderate Easterly breeze.
Grocery shopping over by mid morning. Maeve the Deerhound stayed at home.
Before lunch we wandered along to the Springbank distillery to visit the Christmas market which was held indoors over two floors in one of the distillery buildings. On the ground floor there were the stalls with quite an array of crafts and gifts and all sort of other things. Upstairs was set out with long tables in the middle and food stalls all round the outside. Some stalls were local businesses others local crafts people and others were charities such as the RNLI. We were very pleasantly surprised by the number of stalls, the quality of the offerings, and the number of people who attended. Longrow had cars parked all the way along almost from the opening at 11am to the closing at 4pm.
We went home for lunch, then I watched the final F1 race of the season on telly.
Later we went for walk with Maeve the Deerhound along to the harbour, round the old quay, then along past the ferry terminal and along the shore side of the narrow park. It felt very cold in the breeze. We turned at the end of the park and came back along the street side then came home through town past the town hall and the bookshop (closed .. although there was a stall at the market).
Then there was tea with slices of cake we had bought at the market.
Later still Apothecary7 was painting.
