Two modes of flight

It's my 34th birthday today. I went for a hike at North Mountain. It's a relatively easy hike, so I brought my big lens and tripod. I saw this red-tailed hawk circling above and was able to get this nice shot with a plane in the background.

The extra photo is of the surprising amount of tree cover in Phoenix. Sure doesn't look like it from ground level.
