Sheriff Joe Arpaio lost in the election to Paul Penzone. It was a major upset, though it was expected. Arpaio has been the sheriff for over 20 years. Lately he's been in trouble because of litigation and his handling of orders and immigration. It's a whole story. But he'll be out soon. They'll have to update the doors at the jail downtown.

It's Thanksgiving. I have the day off for the third year in a row, which is miraculous in my line of work. I decided to stay in. I didn't feel like going to Tucson to see my family, though no one invited me. They probably assumed I had to work. I ate mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce.
