Pula

We headed to Pula for the day which is about an hour away from where we're staying. We started with the ampitheatre which was in pretty good nick, but Dex found very boring (he's been spoilt with all the swimming pool fun over the past few days). However we then discovered some underground tunnels which were used during the war, and different directions took you to different parts of the city. The kids loved this as did we as it was lovely and cool down there which stopped us from melting in the 30 plus heat. After lunch we stumbled across Agrippa's house (I don't even know who this is but they made quite a big deal of the ruins!). In general there was a lot of Roman influence and ruins, but we thoroughly enjoyed seeing somewhere new.

Back at our gorgeous holiday home I worked on a map with Olivia showing the kids where they were allowed to go on their bikes, with out us. Yikes. There weren't any roads to cross and they had to stay together but they loved this bit of independence and were super excited to go off on their own. There were no problems, just lots of fun.
