871 Lengths

Tonight my friend Ellie completed her mammoth task of swimming 871 lengths in 6 weeks. This was her second swim of the day, and she chose to finish the task off at Brightlingsea Open Air Pool. I haven't been to the pool in about 15 years, and was pleasantly surprised that it was much nicer than I remembered.

Slight panic set in when we got to the pool and were told that they were closing early and we had 20mins. Luckily those 20mins turned into 40, but Ellie had stormed out of the blocks and did her last 16 lengths in quite a pace. She finished, got out the pool and promptly slipped over and grazed her knee. Champion!
